Employee Engagement Can Have a Real Impact for Small Business Owners
By:
Small Business Finance Forum
on 2:01 PM
If you are a small business owner, you ARE the culture. So if you don't like how things are, you have to take a good look at how you interact with your employees.
As a business owner, little interactions go a long way. Like it or not, you're viewed as a demi-god.
Therefore, employees are uplifted when you walk through the office and speak to everyone and ask about their families or congratulate them on a recent achievement. Conversely, they feel slighted, if you walk through and are in your head thinking about things and totally ignore them as you pass.

Had Issues Getting a Bank Loan as a Black Business Owner? Get the 411
By:
Small Business Finance Forum
on 12:11 PM
Here I discuss what my definition of a business banker is - in terms of signature authority (their ability to approve a loan without getting additional approval) and what they can do for you. I provide a few examples of how a strong relationship with a business banker really helped my client. I then discuss how to start and nurture that relationship.
As in, where do you find these individuals and how do you approach them? I talk about some of the pitfalls you may encounter, how to recognize them and what to do.
If you would like to talk to me about financing or operational issues you are encountering...or how to help you and your firm build a relationship with a banker, you can schedule a free 20-minute consultation with me at https://theresourcefulceo.com/schedule.

Why Small Business Owners Need to Engage with Employees
By:
Small Business Finance Forum
on 3:53 PM
In client and prospective companies, the business owners and CEOs do not fully realize the impact they have on employees. In fact, a few honestly have absolutely no idea. Let me be very clear: As the CEO and/or owner of a firm with employees, your employees view you as a demi-god, even if they don't admit it.
They may complain about you, but they know you provide their paycheck and you deal with headaches they'd (usually) never want. You set the company culture, so your firm's culture largely reflects your management style and your values and priorities. Your position our words and actions carry much greater weight than the words and actions of others.
Because of this, you can make someone’s day just by saying hi to them. On the other hand, you can mess up someone’s day by walking by them without saying a word.
So say hi. Engage. Connect. And see what happens!
Want to meet with me to discuss engagement issues or anything else? Schedule a free 20-minute consult at https://TheResourcefulCEO.com/schedule. You can also connect through our contact form if you are interested in partnering or other discussions.

A Consultant vs a Fractional CEO / COO: What's the Difference? An Explan...
By:
Small Business Finance Forum
on 4:05 PM
A consultant works on a project basis, identifying a scope and the objectives and deliverables the consultant will need to deliver. A fractional COO or CEO is someone who supports an organization that's either not ready to hire a full-time COO or CEO or the owner or executive management needs additional support at the CEO or COO level.
For The Resourceful CEO, the typical time frame for fractional services is 6-12 months, although it can be longer.
A fractional CEO or COO identifies the objective but takes more time to achieve the objectives. She also works dedicated hours or days, such as Tuesday from 9 am - 6 pm or 8am - 12:30 pm, depending on the scope and agreement.
